Valencia Basket opens its ACB Playoff quarterfinal series vs. Surne Bilbao Basket at Roig Arena
Liga Endesa Playoffs

Valencia Basket men's team begins its twentieth consecutive appearance in the Liga Endesa Playoffs by facing Surne Bilbao Basket in the opening game of the quarterfinal series (Wednesday 3rd, 7:00 PM, Roig Arena, DAZN). This will be the third time these two teams have met in the national championship playoffs.
After completing a three-game week with a perfect record, the orange-clad side earned the opportunity to count on the support of its fans for this opening game against an opponent that has grown stronger through its defensive play and finished the regular season with a surge of victories that secured its return to the ACB playoffs.
Interestingly, Valencia Basket once again meets the Men in Black, who were also their quarterfinal opponents in Bilbao’s last postseason appearance back in 2015. History suggests they have never been an easy rival at this stage of the season. In fact, Surne Bilbao Basket has won on both of its previous playoff visits to Valencia, and just over two weeks ago they pushed Valencia Basket to the limit in a Liga Endesa regular-season game that ultimately ended in an 88–83 victory for the home side.
The two meetings between the teams this season, however, both ended in Valencia victories, although in each game the Basque side dominated one quarter and managed to erase a significant deficit.
Valencia Basket continues to be without the injured Xabi López-Arostegui and Josep Puerto, while several other players are dealing with physical issues. Center Nate Reuvers has returned to training after missing the last two games due to a viral illness, but he is not yet at full fitness. Jean Montero did not train after suffering a shoulder knock at the Palau Blaugrana on Sunday, and Isaac Nogués injured his ankle during the final training session before the game.
